Hi my 8 week old puppy is making a coughing noise then he’s gagging then weezing and making a duck sound. He has all symptoms of kennel cough but the breeder I got him from said none of the other pups are doing that and he has only been around 1 other puppy that doesn’t have it either I recently got a new crate from a woman I worked with after leaving him in it for a while he started the coughing and things that night. Baxter is a cutie! Kennel cough can be spread by objects like crates, shoes, or not washing your hands after petting a dog who has kennel cough. Additionally, just because a a group of dogs is exposed to kennel cough does not mean that every single dog will get it. However, you will never be able to know if the kennel cough came from the breeder or another source. Every pet is constantly in a different immune state.
