My dog is vomiting, sluggish, and has hypothyroidism. What can I do?

My dog, Chewie, has vomited 3 times in the last 6 hours. I am fasting him now, and only offering water. I don't know why he is sick. He does have hypothyroidism. He does not appear to be dehydrated, but seems sluggish. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. Pet's info: Dog | Shih Tzu | 9 years and 1 month old

I'm sorry that Chewie is not feeling well. Unfortuantely, vomiting is a very non-specific symptom. Pretty much anything can cause vomiting in dogs so I cannot tell you why this is happening. You are doing just right by withholding food. Just be sure to offer only small amounts of water at a time. If he continues to vomit in the next 6-8 hours you should get him to the vet right away. Continued vomiting can be serious.
