My dog ate a headphone piece. Will he pass it or should I call a vet?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Bulldog | Male | unneutered | 3 months and 21 days old | 38 lbs

My dog ate something off of a pair of headphones, is he going to throw it up or will it just come out once he has his meal and needs to use the bathroom? He is almost 4 months but weighs about 25 pounds. I’m scared and I don’t know what to do.

This foam part may pass without problem. You can take Arnie into an ER vet now to have vomiting induced to get it out, or you can watch him for signs of obstruction. These include vomiting, diarrhea, anorexia, and lethargy. If you see any of those signs, take him into a vet right away. Best of luck.
