Why is my dog barking and lunging at my dad after moving home?

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed | Male | unneutered | 9 months old | 20 lbs

he has been acting weird lately towards my father I moved back home it a new setting for him I got him to interact with my father and he allows him to pet him and approach him to be petted on his own will however whenever my dad opens his door he lunges and start to bark he never attacked anyone can you please explain he is the sweetest thing he is gentle with my younger siblings and loves attention.

Thank you for submitting your question regarding Draco. Changing homes can be stressful to a dog, but his behavior towards your father is worrisome. I would make an appointment for a consultation with your veterinarian. You will what to discuss neutering him and any other factors in the home that can be contributing to his aggression. In the meantime, keep him on a leash so that you can grab it if he starts to bark or lunge. Never leave him unsupervised with your younger siblings. Practice positive reinforcement by giving him treats and praise for good behavior. Never physically punish a dog for bad behavior as this only leads to anxiety and further aggression.
