My pug won't eat his new food. Why the sudden loss of appetite?

My pug won’t eat his food and I’m not sure why. We changed his food a week or two ago and he had been eating it fine until yesterday and today when I get him up in the morning and pour his food usually he goes wild but he just stares at it. Any idea why?”. Pet's info: Dog | Pug | Male | unneutered | 10 months and 12 days old | 14 lbs

Hi, and thanks for your question. This is a quite generic but concerning presentation. Differentials are many, from gastrointestinal diseases (infection/inflammations often dietary related) to any disease that can spread systemically (causing lethargy for example) like infection, and anything that can cause pain/discomfort. The approach must be logic, starting from offering different kind of food. A check up is needed if inappetence lasts for more than 24hours.
