My dog keeps chewing its tail raw. What's causing it and how to help?

8 mo. Female blue nose has been chewing the end of her tail she sits and spins and wont stop tail has became raw upon closer observation i see little white dots maybe and very tip of tail has a bright red sore i see dirt i r flea dander.. I sprayed a dog liquid bandage on her tail that detours dogs from chewing and licking as promotes healing .. What could it be that is causing her to go crazy and naw herself . fleas ? I dont see any and other dogs in the home have flea drops. mites? Help

Poor Girl! Without seeing her in person, it is impossible for me to know what caused it. It could be fleas. Mange usually causes hairloss on other places like the feet and face. She likely has an infection from chewing. I would first put a cone collar on her to prevent the chewing. I would then start her on Benadryl twice a day to help decrease the itching. If it isn't improving, I would have your vet take a look. Your vet will likely want to put her on antibiotics and possibly stronger allergy meds to help it heal.
