I would say that these people are very special people. They get to rescue dogs from very terrible situations and help them. Unfortunately, it likely doesn't come without hard training and some risk as you will be entering dangerous situations and likely dirty environments. I am unsure what all is involved as far as getting to becoming one. I would talk to your local police station or investigator office and they will be able to give you more details on the steps you need to take to get to your final goal. I hope this helps!

Unfortunately (luckily!) vets get in contact rarely with animal cruelty investigators, but I would recommend to talk directly to police officers or animal cruelty investigators to understand exactly what is the path to reach your goal.
