Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Male | neutered | 1 year and 8 months old
Why does my cat bite at me when I pet him? He seems fine when I'm showing him affection, but then out of nowhere he'll bite me. And it's not a playful nip, he bites hard. I don't understand, he's a happy cat, very sweet, loves me to death and he's never been mistreated. So why does he act this way?

This could be due to overstimulation. Some cats can become overly excited when petted, and this leads to biting. It's known as petting-induced aggression. Talk with your vet about Oliver's behavior, and they can help you find his subtle signs letting you know he's done with petting before he bites you. Best of luck.
