Pet's info: Bird | Wild Bird | Female | unspayed | 0.0551156 lbs
My Lesser Masked Weaver female is spinning on her back in circles, almost as if she is having seizures. Is this normal or is it a sign of a serious illness? She also showed signs of drooping wings today not sure if it was after she splashed some water and was trying to dry. She also has some bald spots, especially on her chest where the feathers do not seem to want to grow back. Should I be worried as we do not have any Avian Vets nearby at all?

If your bird is not able to be roused out of this episode then I would be very concerned. It sounds as if she’s having a neurological problem, most likely seizures. If it was just a one time occurrence and Calypso is otherwise acting normal, eating and drinking well, I would not worry. I hope this helps. Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. Best of luck.
