Bravecto on cat's head: watery eyes, fast breathing. Is it a reaction?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Male | unneutered | 6 years and 10 months old

I put Bravecto on my cat,but instead between the shoulders,I put it on the back of his head,so he can't lick it(he tries very hard to reach it) but on the next day his eyes were watery, and he scratches a lot his ears and the covered zone, shaking his head and ears, now it's the third day after I put it and it's still the same, also he breathes fast even when he's relaxed and deep asleep, I counted his moving and he takes breath 50 times in a minute,is that related or what else could be the reason?

Hello. This is really tough to say. Bravecto has a pretty good margin of safety, I use it on all of my barn & outdoor cats & have never had a problem. The best thing to do is have Tikvichko seen by your veterinarian, & if he determines that this might be a reaction to Bravecto, he can contact the company. In many cases, the makers of Bravecto will pay for or reimburse for any medical conditions related to the use of their product. Good luck & thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach.
