Is my hamster's CritterTrail cage big enough if I connect two?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Small Animal | Hamster | Female | unspayed | 0.25 lbs

So I recently posted a pic of my hamsters new set up. People said that CritterTrail is too small for her. She has two cages and then tubes connecting them. She runs in her ball for 4 hrs a day with a break each hour for water and food. Should I make her a bin cage or keep the CritterTrails cage?

That cage set up is so cute! At a minimum, the cage should be 24 inches by 12 inches, and 12 inches high. As long as the CritterTrails cage meets that requirement, you don't need to change it. Plus, Princess has two cages to run between. I hope this helps!
