Puppy's red eye with mucus and scratching: What's the cause?

My 12 week old puppy has a red eye and mucus like substance coming out of it as well. It irritates him and keeps on scratching it. What could it be? Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Medium (23 - 60lb) | Male | unneutered | 2 months and 16 days old | 12 lbs

Oso likely has an eye infection and I recommend to have him seen by his veterinarian. He will likely get antibiotic eye drops and the doctor may check for a scratch on the cornea as well.
