Pet's info: Dog | American Bulldog | Male | unneutered | 3 years and 3 months old | 84 lbs
My American Bulldog is a 3 yr old rescue. He is just getting all his vaccines. He went before and it went badly because of his fear. My vet prescribed gabapentin to be given 90 mins B4 his visit. It was unsuccessful and he didn't retain hardly any. He got his shots and blood work done and now 5 hrs ltr he is lethargic and not getting around well. Could the meds have done this or is there something I maybe could give him to make him more comfortable?

Thank you for submitting your question regarding Hoss. Gabapentin can cause sedation and ataxia (wobbly gait). He may have been so nervous earlier that you are just seeing the full effects of the medication now. Each dose typically lasts 8 hours. I would not give him any other medications u less his veterinarian has directed you to do so. If you are concerned though, he should see an emergency veterinarian. I hope this information helps!
