My dog had first heat at 10 months. No second heat by 18 months?

Pet's info: Dog | Dachshund (Miniature Smooth Haired) | Female | unspayed | 1 year and 7 months old | 6 lbs

Hi, my dog had her first heat at 10 months she is now 1.5 years and still hasn’t had a second heat, is this normal?

Typically dogs do have a heat every six months, but it could be Cleo had a heat and it was a silent heat. Silent heats are when the dog shows no outward signs of being in heat. You can have her checked out by a vet to be safe. Best of luck.
