Hi. I would be thinking allergies in her case. It can cause redness, itching, secondary infections, even crusts in the area. Pets can be allergic to the protein in their food, environmental allergens, or a combination of the two. When they are younger like Rey, i would lean more towards food allergies. They are usually allergic to the chicken, beef or lamb....the most common ingredients in most over the counter dog foods. I would make an appointmet to get her checked out and get her on medications for secondary infection and itchiness. And also discuss food allergies with your veterinarian.

It appears from the pictures that she is suffering from an allergy. The most common types of allergies are food, environmental, and flea. Typically you can give an antihistamine to help with the redness. I would recommend taking her to a vet because I am concerned her eyes might need medications not found over the counter.

Hi and thank you for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Sorry to hear Chloe is having a problem around her eye and that her eye and ear are red. Certainly allergies could be involved but other possibilities include corneal ulcer or some sort of injury/trauma to the eye. Also, some type of infection or inflammatory problem could be happening. Since the eye is red and she is scratching at it, I would advise getting her evaluated by your local veterinarian immediately. She can damage the eye by trying to rub or scratch at it. Also, her ear can be examined for possible signs of infection which is a reason for the ear being red. These problems may be related. A physical exam and a more detailed exam of the eye and ear can be made. Possible eye tests include an eye stain to check for a corneal injury, a tear test to evaluate tear production, and an evaluation of the pressure within her eye. An exam of the ear and possibly a cytology (looking at a sample of any discharge under a microscope) can aid in the diagnosis of an ear infection. I hope Chloe gets better soon.

Poor Bella. In dogs, environmental allergies are the most common kind of allergies. Unfortunately without seeing her in person, I cannot diagnose what is causing her allergies. I'd have her seen by a vet for this problem. The vet can diagnose what is causing them and can treat her. I hope this helps!
