Hi... My puppy has started to eat his poo. Is it harmful to him and how can I prevent him from doing this. Thanks Frank

Thank you for submitting your question regarding Charlie Boy. This is a common habit in puppies. Many dogs will outgrow the behavior as they age. In the meantime, scoop the yard as frequently as possible. You can also try applying Forbid powder to his food. This can help to break the habit. Eating his feces can place him at a higher risk for reinfection himself with parasites. I hope this information helps!

Charlie is adorable! You need to stop him from eating stones, as those could cause a foreign body obstruction. Distract him when you see he's trying to eat stones by getting him to do tricks or offering him a treat. I assume you mean he's also eating waste, such as feces. This isn't good for him to do as well, and when he poops, pick it up right after he goes to keep him from eating it. Best of luck.
