How can I identify my new puppy's breed and approximate age?

I was wondering if you will be able to tell me the breed and age of her a lady gave her to me and didn’t tell me anything on her

Congratulations on your new pet! Kaya is adorable! Judging by her size and appearance, she may be a Labrador or Pointer mix. Based on Kaya’s teeth, she still has all of her baby teeth, so she is likely approximately 2.5-3 months old. I hope this helps and thank you for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach!

Hello. If her teeth are just beginning to grow big, & based on how she looks in your pictures, I would say she is about 4-5 months old. It is very difficult to say exactly what breed she is, but I can see a little chow or spitz in her. she looks like she is going to be pretty fluffy. Thanks for using Boop by Petco! He is a mixed breed dog with predominant features of a Jack Russell terrier. To better predict his age, it would be helpful to examine his mouth specifically his dentition. However, he is probably about 3 months old. Good luck and have a great day!

I don't find them very accurate though. If you want to send more pictures or post a gain when he/s bigger it may help. I found a puppy at the gas station and id like to try and find out his age and breed , also what steps i need to take to make sure hes healthy
While it is difficult to say definitively what Leo may be, he sure is cute. He may be a mix of dachshund & chihuahua, or might even have a little corgi in him. Have him examined by a veterinarian as soon as possible. He can tell you hold old Leo is, check his stool for parasites, & start him on age appropriate vaccinations. Thanks for using Boop by Petco! From the pictures, it does look like he may be a german shepherd or similar breed It is hard to estimate age from pictures, but he is clearly young (under a year). I would recommend if he was found, he be taken to a veterinary office for a check-up and to be scanned for a microchip.

Lile how many month u guys think is supposly the breeder said she was born mid november but when i got her he told me she was 6 weeks in january 18? And he said is a belgian mallois but who knows
She looks like she could be 3-4 months old. Look at her teeth. At around 4 months of age she should start losing baby teeth. She may be a Malinois, but is difficult to determine by one image. A reputable breeder will provide paperwork, pedigree, vaccine history, etc. Your veterinarian should be able to make a determination of age and breed after a physical exam. She has to be examined anyway to get her vaccines.

Thanks for using Boop by Petco! He is adorable! He is a mixed breed dog but a predominant breed is hard to guess as he looks very well mixed. I would say that he has some characteristics of a Newfoundland and a Bernese mountain dog. I would say that he is likely to be a medium-sized breed dog to perhaps a bit larger. Good luck!

I don't think my puppy is 8 weeks old I just got him
I am not able to tell from the picture how old your puppy is. The best way to get an accurate age estimate is to have a veterinarian evaluate the puppy. If the puppy’s teeth have erupted then he is at least 6 weeks old. It would also be helpful to know his breed, how much he weighs now, and how big the parents were. I hope this helps.
