My dog screamed in pain, is drooling. What's wrong with his neck?

Pet's info: Dog | Chihuahua | Male | unneutered | 7 years and 7 months old | 15 lbs

Last night my dog Came out from Underneath the blanket and sat next to me When I was petting Him near N between his shoulder and neck on the left side he had Twitched and screamed In pain. I have kept an eye on him all night and what I notice is that He has been sticking his tongue out a little bit and drooling from the tip of his tongue. I tried massaging him but I am honestly thinking That I massage him wrong and now the right side shoulder neck is also Discomfort please help me

Poor Baby! It sounds like he may be suffering from some neck pain. This could progress causing neurological problems if left untreated. I would have your vet take a look at him to localize the pain and to ensure nothing else is going on. Your vet will be able to do x-rays if needed. In the meantime, I would keep him confined and do not let him jump, run or play until you can get in to see your vet. I would not give him any human pain meds as most are toxic to dogs.
