Pet's info: Dog | Chihuahua (Long Coat) | Female | spayed
My dog has epilepsy. We first found out about 6 months ago when she had a series of seizures in the same day. She was put on phenobarbital medication, as well as Kreppa for when a seizure does occur. We were told she may still have a seizure a few times a year. I just want to know if it normal for her to be hyper and restless for a few days after a seizure. Also, is it possible for her to have mini seizures after a full seizure?

Hello and welcome to Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. Seizures are complicated and every animal is different with their seizures, as well as their 'pre' and 'post' ictal (seizure) state. Some dogs have a post ictal state that can last a day or two, so this could explain her being hyper and restless. This likely will improve as Bella 'gets used' to what the seizure feels like. If seizures are occurring one after the other, mini or full, this is considered 'cluster' seizuring, and means that you might need to address the medication. Best of luck with Bella!
