My Boston Terrier is coughing hard. Is it a cold or choking?

My Boston Terrier has a strong cough like he has something in his throat but it's a cough like a cold

Thank you for contacting Pet Coach with Buster! Choking in dogs isn't very common, so I suspect that he likely has a cough. This could be due to a respiratory infection. Tonight, keep him warm and only take him outside quickly to go to the bathroom. Make sure he eats and drinks. If he appears congested, take him to the bathroom with you when you take a shower or put him in a room with a humidifier. The steam from either can help with congestion. Having him seen by a vet tomorrow or Monday if this cough continues. Best of luck.
