My dog licked her tail raw. Sudocrem isn't working. Should I worry?

My dog has licked underneath of her tail raw I applied sudocrem last night but not seeming much better this morning?..

Hi, it is important to understand why she is licking this area. Does she have urinary incontinence and is she cleaning herself for example, or does she have impacted anal glands ? Sudocream can be applied as one off, but can be potentially toxic if ingested on several occasions. I would recommend to have her checked over to understand what the underlying problem is, you will get an improvement in a shorter period of time and that will last for longer.. rather than just trying to soothe the skin. Hope this helps !
