Why is my cat sleeping more and crying from pain when moving?

my cat has been sleeping A LOT more than usual lately, almost all day and he makes a lot of sad high pitched noises almost everytime he changes his sleeping position... is that normal? Pet's info: Cat | American Shorthair | Male | neutered
