My young, small chihuahua is pregnant. Can she safely have puppies?

Im fostering a chihuahua puppy. And while pet sitting another dog who turned out to not be neutered, while she was in heat. She's now pregnant. We were advised to get her spayed even though shes 3 weeks pregnant since she's only 7 months old. If we can we really dont want to abort them, but her safety comes first. Would she be ok to carry this pregnancy out?

Chihuahuas tend to have a lot of problems giving birth due to their small size, and frequently need c sections. Given her age and small size, I think it would be best for her safety to follow the recommendations and have her spayed. If you want to keep the puppies, you need to start saving in case she needs an emergency c section. Those can cost thousands. Best of luck.
