My dog has brown eye discharge after the beach. What's the cause?

Last week , We and Ellie stayed at te beach . After we returned, her body secretions especially her eyes were browned. What is the cause? note: Red eye of Ellie is not new matter , since minor operation on skirret. Pet's info: Dog | Bichon Frise | Female | unspayed | 1 year and 7 months old | 17 lbs

Thanks for using PetCoach. The brown tear staining is usually the result of a small infection, though if it was a sandy beach, the brown sand could also be part of it. Clean the area gently with a warm wet cloth. Usually I recommend treating with a treat, wipe, or medication containing a small amount tylosin. For example, here in US the one I use is Occubright tear stain remover (https://ocubright.com/) , though there are other supplements that may work well. The important thing to know is that this is almost never serious and usually the eyes are completely healthy. Best wishes to you and Ell!
