Dog ate baseball a month ago. Vomiting and diarrhea. Is it serious?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Pomeranian | Male | unneutered | 2 years and 2 months old | 12 lbs

Huckleberry ate the leather covering off of a baseball. That was around a month ago. At the time I just monitored him to make sure that he seemed okay, and he did for the days following, however, the past few days he has been vomiting with a lot of yellow bile present and has also had diarrhea. Could this be from the baseball from a month ago? Or do you think he just has some form of stomach virus?

It possibly could be from the baseball. I've seen cases where dogs have eaten a foreign object, and it takes weeks for signs to appear. It could also be a GI illness. Take Huckleberry into a vet now to get checked out. Best of luck.
