Are there any specific vitamins that could help a dog who has neurological problems affecting his hips?

Hello. In general, there are no neurological problems that will respond to vitamins, especially if Gus is eating a well balanced diet & has no significant underlying disease. If his hips are weak, this is probably due to hip dysplasia or spinal stenois, a narrowing of the spinal column. Using anti-inflammatory medications such as NSAIDs or steroids may be useful as well as a good glucosamine/chondroitin sulfate supplement. Ask your vet about Adequan injections, the use of omega 3 fatty acids, & even using a rehabilitative medicine expert to increase function to his hips. Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach.
