My 9 year old cat developed an allergy to his food (hills light) about a year ago, and I switched to the Hills sensitive skin & stomach - he is amazing with this food. The problem is that I got a new kitten a few months ago, and she is eating the Hills kitten food, which of course my older cat gets into occasionally. He started showing symptoms of an allergic reaction again and I just realised it is probably the kitten food! Would it be terrible if I switched my kitten to eating the sensitive fo

If your kitten is over 6-7 months old, its fine to just switch her over to the Hills sensitive skin and stomach just like your other cat eats. Hello, congratulations on your new kitten. Look for a food that has the same protein source and ingredeints as the dog food. Ideally, the cat food should be however formulated for cats and not dogs as they do have different nutritional requirements. If the major ingredients, protein and carbohydrates are siminal, then your dog should be less likely to have a reaction if he does get into the cat food. Alternatively, you can try your best to keep your dog away from the cat food. Hope this helps and best of luck.
