My young dog's joints are cracking. Is it a sign of hip problems?

Pet's info: Dog | German Shepherd | Male | neutered | 2 years and 1 month old | 57 lbs

I keep hearing my dogs bones crack this week when getting up or changing positions etc. and i don’t think I’ve ever heard that before. is this a cause for concern? He’s only 2.

He may have early stage hip problems, which is very common in this breed. Cracking is usually a sign of either bone on bone contact or air bubbles in the joint due to reduced synovial fluid. I think its worth having him checked by your vet at some point to evaluate his hips. You can also consider getting him started on joint supplements now to support him as he gets older. My top picks here are Rejuvenate or Dasuquin. I hope that things work out well for your pet Marshall moving forward. Take care!
