My dog suddenly won't eat or drink. Should I take them to the vet?

my dog was doing ok yesterday now wont barly eat or drink. Pet's info: Dog | American Bulldog | Male | neutered | 12 years and 8 months old | 84 lbs

This could be anything from a simple arthritis flare up to organ failure to cancer. For the first, some pain medication is often all that is needed while the others may require other treatments.
