Can a puppy be active right before showing signs of Parvo virus?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Lhasa Apso | Male | unneutered | 2 lbs

Will puppy be super active a day before showing the symptoms of Parvo virus? I can't sleep everyday worrying about my pup whenever I take him to VET there is one or another case or PARVO. Pixel is a really happy puppy I can't imagine him in being that condition. I can't change the VET now as he is the best and vaccination schedule is going with him. Pixel has got his first 6 in 1 shot along with coronna virus shot.

Parvo virus can appear quite suddenly (often starting with fever and lethargy followed by V/D the following day). In order to protect him, he should be kept indoors (with minimal access to a private, enclosed, dry yard for toileting if possible) with no access to unvaccinated dogs or faeces/vomit/secretions from other dogs until 1 week after his final vaccination. This virus is transmitted primarily from ingesting the faeces of affected or recently recovered dogs so risk reduction and avoidance is possible with care and attention
