Can a puppy be active the day before showing Parvo symptoms?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Lhasa Apso | Male | unneutered | 2 lbs

Will puppy be super active a day before showing the symptoms of Parvo virus? I can't sleep everyday worrying about my pup whenever I take him to VET there is one or another case or PARVO. Pixel is a really happy puppy I can't imagine him in being that condition. I can't change the VET now as he is the best and vaccination schedule is going with him.

Hello, thank you for your question about Pixel. Generally I puppy with parvovirus will shows some signs of sickness. It is uncommon that they become acutely affected, where they are very playful the day prior and then critically ill on the next day. If your veterinarian practices good hygiene and cleaning practices between appointments this should lower the chance of transmission. Also, it is very helpful that Pixel has already some of his vaccines this should lower the chance of Pixel becoming infected. Hope this helps, you are doing everything right and taking great care of Pixel!
