Can I give my puppy beapher bone builder as calcium supplement along with their Canedian premium puppy food

A balanced puppy food which has been specially formulated to be a complete diet should not be supplemented as this can lead to dietary excess, which can also be harmful to bone development. Check that the puppy food is suitable for the age and breed type and if you have concerns about bone and joint development I recommend a full physical by your vet to determine which, if any, supplementation is required

    It is not recommended to give additional calcium to dogs or puppies, as too much can cause health problems and joint problems. Feeding your GSD a high quality dog food will give him all the calcium he needs to be healthy.

Thank you for submitting your question regarding your puppy. If you feed a well balanced puppy food, there is no reason to provide additional supplements. Supplementing calcium can actually be detrimental. The excess calcium will alter the puppimy's calcium:phosphorus ratio leading to developmental bone disease. I hope this information helps!

Hi, thanks for using Boop by Petco! Bone is SUPER cute!! I do not recommend calcium supplementation. Once Bone is 5-6 weeks old start feeding him a commercial puppy food, like Purina puppy chow. If you are bottle feeding him with a puppy formula you can start mixing that with puppy food now. All commercial puppy foods are nutritionally balance. Over supplementing calcium can cause harm. It is never recommended to give puppies multi vitamins and calcium supplements. This will affect Fang's growth adversely, and it is not needed. A good quality puppy food will provide all the nutrients he needs. I also advise again feeding him Orijen. It's grain free, and vets are seeing a link between dogs developing dilated cardiomyopathy who are on grain free diets. The FDA is now investigating that link. Grain free food is a fad, grains are actually good for dogs. I'd feed him a puppy food from brands such as Royal Canin, Hill's Science Diet, Purina ProPlan, or Iams. I hope this helps!

A fully balanced diet such as large breed food formulated for the age of your dog (puppy or adult) would not need to be supplemented with any calcium supplement and indeed over supplementation can also cause problems. I suggest you speak to your local food suppliers to suggest a suitable, balanced diet in order to ensure all his needs are being met, not just calcium and phosphorous

Royal Canin is a complete, balanced food. It should not be necessary to add other supplements. Adding additional calcium or vitamins could actually be detrimental as it will throw off normal ratios. Thank you for using Boop by Petco

What are the calcium needs be for a 14 week puppy and an 11 months puppy please?
The general requirement for calcium intake is roughly 25mg per lb of bodyweight. As long as you are feeding a commercialized diet formulated for dogs, toy will not have a problem with calcium and I would certainly not add more than what is needed as rapid growth can lead to conformational defects with the bones. If you are trying to formulate your own diet then I would suggest visiting www.balanceit.com and use the autobalancer to create your own diet. On this site you can also buy the powdered vitamin and mineral supplement that will have the right amount of calcium. I hope this helps guide you in the right direction! I usually give ghontu royal canin for Golden Retrievers twice a day and homemade food once. I am also giving her 10 ml.of mybeau supplement once per day. Is giving supplements wrong for pups at this age.Can you please suggest if I should continue fee
Puppies at this age should not be given supplements, as too many vitamins and too much calcium is detrimental to her health and growth. She will be getting all the nutrients she needs from her Royal Canin, which is an excellent puppy food. I would continue feeding her the Royal Canin puppy food, and not give her the homemade diet. The only food she needs is her puppy food, and the homemade diet may make her gain too much weight. You can start giving her the MyBeau supplements when she is a year old and eating an adult food.

I have a 5 months old golden retriever. Right now I am giving him royal canin golden retriever junior along with around 10-ml multivitamin and around 15-ml calcium supplements. Is that okay?
No, I would not give Milo multi-vitamins of calcium supplements. While puppies do need higher amounts of protein, calcium, and calories than adult dogs, their puppy formulated food will provide that for him. It's never recommend to give puppies multivitamins and extra calcium as that can have detrimental effects on their growth, especially excess calcium. Stop giving Milo this supplements now, and be sure to feed him a high quality large breed puppy formulated food such as Royal Canin.
