My dog's neuter has no stitches. Are they internal or dissolved?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Medium (23 - 60lb) | Male | neutered | 1 year old | 55 lbs

I can’t see stitches on Scooby’s scrotum from his neuter. He does have dissolvable sutures is that why I can’t see them? Are they internal stitches?

That depends on your surgeon whether there were internal sutures or not. You can always call them on tomorrow to be sure. But typically for dog neuters we do use internal sutures and skin glue on the outside. As long as the incision doesn't appear to be infected or skin separation at the incision site, then Scooby is likely healing just fine.
