Pet's info: Dog | Cavalier King Charles Spaniel | Female | 26 lbs
I think my 12 year old dog has a yeast infection. I have been treating her with Maleseb shampoo which clears it up briefly but then it just comes back. It seems to originate from her vagina as this area is worse affected with lots of dark dry scaly patches and her nipples are all dark brown and scabby and her tummy is covered in dry patchy skin. Should I seek advice for possible thrush or other internal fungal infection. She is also rolling on the carpet which leads me to believe her back itches

I cannot give you a diagnosis over the internet just based on what you have described. She could have a yeast infection of the skin. Sometimes these things need a long course of oral antifungals to clear up along with the topical shampoo. That being said, she could have an autoimmune problem, underlying allergies, a uterine infection (if she is not spayed) or any number of other things. It is recommended you get her to a vet for an examination so you she can get a diagnosis and the proper treatment.
