How long must you wait before getting a dog spayed/ neutered after it has survived parvo? We caught it early so recovery was very quick. I rescue dogs and they came to me sick so I got them tested and it was positive. Began neds and fluids and within 4 days they were eating and drinking on their own. I still have them in quarentine but it has been 3 weeks and they are getting very roudy.

A puppy may shed parvovirus for up to 6 week after initial symptoms appear. It would be best to wait at least this long after recovery then have your veterinarian examine them to make sure they can undergo anesthesia.

You would need to discuss this with your local clinic as they would have there own infectious disease policies. Once they are not vomiting or having diarrhea they are of limited risk after 6weeks if the clinic is able to keep them fully separated from other patients

Usually in few (2-3) days after the starting treatment. If not eating and still loosing fluids through diarrhea or vomiting, a supportive treatment is absolutely needed. If you do not see any improvement in the next 12-24 hours and unsure about Gordo, a veterinary check up is needed.

Pets recover from parvovirus in generally 7-14 days (assuming they respond well to treatment. Here is a link about the disease: https://www.petcoach.co/article/parvovirus-serious-diarrhea-in-puppies-dogs/ Remember that Jack will shed the virus for 6 months and that the virus will live for 1 year. You need to avoid contaminating and exposing other pets. I hope he recovers quickly!

Parvovirus is a very serious infection and it take at least a week for dogs to get better. Sometimes they have vomiting and diarrhea for 10-14days. It is very important that your puppy eats as soon as he keeps food and water down. Any high calories, easy to digest food will be good (for example, cooked chicken or turkey). If your puppy is reluctant to eat you should try and hand feed or even force feed him.
