Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed | Female | spayed | 10 years and 9 months old | 10 lbs
My 10lb, 11yr old dog ate some of a scented garage bag 3 days ago while I was not home. She passed most of it if not all? It was diarrhea, bloody and mucus in it. She was active for two days, eating and passing stool but still a little bloody and mucus. But today she’s not eating and vomiting. I have tried for the past 3 days to give her the antibiotic the vet gave me for her when she did this before. I have no money to take her to the vet again. What can I do?

Sorry we weren't able to get to your question sooner. If Princess is still not feeling well, that is concerning. My biggest worry would be the possibility of an intestinal obstruction if there was a piece of the bag in there that did not pass through. If thats the case, you're going to have to see a vet--can't fix that at home. It is possible, though, that the bag just caused a pretty significant gastroenteritis (inflammation of the GI tract). Call your vet and ask about giving famotidine. This is an acid reducer that may help if she's still vomiting. See here for dosing info: https://www.veterinaryplace.com/famotidine-for-dogs-dosage-chart/ Offer a bland diet of boiled chicken and white rice, in small (1-2 tablespoons) frequent meals for a day, then gradually increase the amount and decrease the frequency over 2 days. If doing well, transition back to regular food. thanks for asking PetCoach! I am sorry that we weren't able to get to your question sooner.
