My cat was just declawed, has bleeding and a white spot. What is it?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

My daughters cat who is 9 months just had declawed. The cat is bleeding lightly around a certain toe area. There’s a white thing on it. What can this possibly be?

Mild oozing can be seen post declaw, but if it continues to bleed for more than a few hours, its best to contact your vet to inform them of what is going on. That white stuff there in the photo looks like skin glue, which is commonly applied to the incision site. I hope that things continue to go well for your daughters cat and continue to check the area for signs of infection in the days to come. Take care!
