Why does my Chihuahua scratch his ear so much in bed? Is it a habit?

Chihuahua scratching ear it’s always the same ear once he starts it can last for 30-40 minutes he usually does it when he’s in bed or comfy he scratches and scratches till he falls asleep (usually with his foot still in his ear) there is nothing physically wrong with his ear it looks clean there Is no redness or smell he doesn’t shake his head or anything except it gets hot but only when he starts scratching what could be wrong could this just be a habit?

Hello, it could indeed just be behavioral or he may be sensitive to the type of detergent or softener that you are using at home and on your bedding. You could try to use something that is indicated for sensitive skin and see if this resolves his itchiness. Especially if it only happens when he is on the bed and going to sleep without any other signs prior to this scenario. Hope this helps and best of luck.
