My cat licks my hair after tea tree oil. Is it toxic for her?

I just washed my hair and used tea tree, my cat started licking at biting at my hair.. why?

Hello, thank you for your question about Sylvester. It is possible that the tea tree oil has a significant odor that your cat may be able to smell easily and may like which leads him to lick your hair. I would discourage Sylvester from doing this as tea tree oil is toxic to cats even in small quantities. If Sylvester develops any symptoms such as vomiting, weakness, unstable walking, or tremoring please have him evaluated by a veterinarian promptly. Hope this helps!

    Hello. So this now tells you to never use tea tree oil on cats. It is TOXIC to cats. He should be fine with such a minor ingestion, but do not use this around pets, it is just not safe. Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach.
