My dogs eat each other's food. Can my adult dog eat puppy food?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | American Cocker Spaniel | Male | unneutered | 2 months and 8 days old | 6 lbs

I have a food question I have 2 cocker spaniels... Remy is 2 and Jaxx 9-10 weeks old... they keep eating each other’s good... Remy likes the puppy food better than hers and the puppy I don’t think he cares but he tends to gravitate to Remys dish .. even though Remy is 2 do you think it’s ok for me feed Remy puppy food... now that I have the puppy she only wants HIS food

Eating puppy food may predispose Remy to becoming obese. The adult diet may not provide Jaxx with the nutrition requirement of a growing puppy. A good compromise may be an "all life stages" diet you could feed to both dogs.
