Why is my dog taking Augmentin and Terbinafine for a hotspot?

Pet's info: Dog | German Shepherd | Male | 3 years and 1 month old

In order to treat hotspot is it necessary to give Augmentin along with terbinafine or only terbinafine dose can cure hotspot? If both is necessary then why and does Augmentin 625mg has any side effects on organ of dog as vet prescribed Augmentin 625mg with terbinafine 250mg twice a day both for 15 days twice a day instead of 5 day course why bet prescribed 15 days course?

Augmentine is an antibiotic, it treats bacterial infections. Terbinafine is an antifungal that treats fungal infections. If your vet suspects both then Augmentine is also necessary. the most common side effects are vomiting, lack of appetite and diarrhea.
