Help! My parakeet has a broken beak from other birds. What's next?

Pet's info: Bird | Parakeet | Male | unneutered | 5 years old

So I have three parakeets. The blue ones are both younger. I got a female for my blue male and then needed to upgrade to a bigger cage for them so I found someone who was selling a big cage wth a parakeet that came with the cage. He is green and is prob about 4 or 5 years old. When we got him he had a busted out beak. Where his left nose hole should be it was all crushed in. I think the younger ones pecked out his broken nose now don't no what to do

Thank you for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. I recommend separating the injured bird from the other two immediately. Keep in a safe cage in a warm draft free area. Provide food and water and minimize stress and handling once separated. I would recommend taking him to an avian veterinarian to assess the severity of the injury and determine what treatment may be needed. Aav.org can help you find an avian vet in your area if you do not have one.

My goodness, poor guy. So sorry to hear this happened. That looks really painful. I cannot give you any information about his chances of surviving. You would need to get him examined by a vet in person to get any information like that. We cannot tell much just by looking at a photo. It is good that he is eating and drinking and you are doing the correct thing my giving him soft foods but milk is not a good idea; they don't need it and most parakeets are actually lactose intolerant. Softening bird pellets and feeding soft human foods is OK . You can also use a critical care diet like the one in the link below. I assume you also separated the birds?? If not, you need to do that. My parrot beak have been break. Would it be possible to grow again please help me
Hello and thank you for reaching out to Boop by Petco. I'm sorry to hear about Parrot's beak. If you believe his beak is broken or cracked, I would seek veterinary attention for him. A cracked beak is like a broken tooth and as bone and nerve endings are connected to the beak, such injuries are painful. A cracked beak won't grow together, but will grow out over time. Amputated or torn off beaks, as well as fractured beaks, will not grow back, but can be repaired. Depending on the severity, your vet may use special, nontoxic glue and bandage a broken / cracked beak. DO NOT use glue at home, as most glues are toxic to birds. I hope this is helpful!

If the break is very small and isn't bothersome or painful, you may just want to leave it alone to eventually grow out and heal. Keeping the area clean, dry, and free of debris can help it to heal and prevent infection. If the beak is actively hanging open, the crack is very large, or it becomes painful or is impeding your bird's ability to eat or drink, it will need to be seen by a vet for repair and treatment as it can become infected or impede normal ability. Keeping your bird indoors until the beak starts to heal is best to avoid further injury while your bird is out and about (if he's not kept in a cage during the day.)

My birds have beak disease..how can it be cured.y ou can see the white bird have problem on beak.we want to know about it so that we can cure it.
This may have been due to infection, trauma or poor nutrition. You would need to have the bird examined by an experienced avian veterinarian for a diagnosis. Treatment will depend on that diagnosis. Antibiotics may be needed in addition to a proper diet. In the meantime, keep the bird warm and as stress free as possible. if it is caged with others, house it singly. Offer a quality commercial pelleted diet. you may need to soak or moisten in to make eating easier. Offer small amounts of diced fresh fruits and vegetables as well as foods such as boiled egg, beans and plain pastas. A mineral block and cuttlebone should also be made available.

Aa indian green parot broke lage . what am I do now
If your parrot has broken his leg it is best to seek veterinary care in person immediately. They can assess the extent of the break, providing treatment for repairing or stabilizing it and provide any medications as needed such as pain meds while he recovers. Your vet can also provide you with further instruction for caring for the leg as it heals. Until you can get to your vet, moving your bird to a hospital cage that is kept warm with low, flat perches (or no perches) and food and water dishes that are shallow and easy to get in and out of may help take some weight off the injured leg until it can be treated.

I have a female budgie, I bought her a week back, we noticed that her lower part of beak is missing/broken and she is eating too much as compared to other budgies that I have
It appears that there is a malformation of your bird’s beak. This could be a congenital malformation or due to some type of injury or trauma. If your bird is still eating and drinking normally I would not be too concerned about it. Thanks for reaching out about Blue and including photos. A veterinary visit is recommended as soon as you can arrange. Checking to ensure beak is not damaged is important. Monitor for appetite and actual ingestion of food as they will often play with the food and not eat. Easiest to monitor fecal production. Pain medication and antibiotics can be provided during your veterinary visit if deemed necessary. Good luck.

My budgie flew into a window.
Hello and thank you for reaching out to Boop by Petco. I'm sorry to hear that Bobo flew into a window. If you believe that he could be injured in any way, I recommend having him evaluated by your nearest veterinarian. Bird's may hide their clinical signs, so subtle signs such as a wing droop or fluffed feathers may indicate underlying disease/injuries. Your veterinarian may recommend x-rays to evaluate for any orthopedic (boney) injuries, which may require the placement of a splint or bandage. If he continues to act normally (eating, drinking, passing normal feces/urates) and perching normally, he will likely be OK. I hope this is helpful!

Our pet parakeet is developing a protruding part on top of his beak. You can see in the picture. He’s the bird on the right.
Some crusting can happen when a bird is ready to mate, but that looks a bit more than that -- It is possible your bird has a respiratory issue going on, a fungal infection taking hold in the nostrils, or another type of infection/illness. It would be best to bring him to a vet to have the area flushed out and treatment started for any underlying infection. Separating him to a hospital cage that is kept warm and with easy access to food and water may also help to prevent the spread of any illness and to keep Ocean comfortable if your other parakeet is picking on him until you can be seen by your vet. You can also use a warm washcloth to try and remove any debris to make him more comfortable.

my parakeet got in a fight with another one got bit on back of neck and r wing now he is sickcrawls around cage eats very little
It sounds like he needs to be seen by a vet for treatment. The bite may have injured his neck/wing and/or he may have an infection secondary to the bite. A vet can take an xray to see if anything is fractured and prescribe an antibiotic, if needed to treat an infection. The fact that he is crawling around the cage and not eating is very concerning so please have a vet take a look at him as soon as possible. Also, keep him separated from the other bird so this doesn't happen again.
