Is my unvaccinated puppy at risk of rabies from eating licked trash?

Pet's info: Dog | Golden Labrador | Male | 2 months and 4 days old

My teddy eats a lot of trash and leftovers of food in the backyard.. Will he get rabies from something a radid animal has licked..??? Plz reply.. He is not vaccinated ad Doctor suggested his first shot on 12th week..

Hi, I think it is dangerous to let Teddy close to other rabid animals and also allow him to eat trash. He could get intoxicated by eating mouldy food for example, or get an obstruction by ingesting material that can't be digested. With regards to rabies, there is need for direct contact through a bite or infected saliva to go onto an open wound.. I would not allow him in the backyard until fully vaccinated and up to date with anti parasites treatment, and I would also start training Teddy. Hope this helps !
