My 2-month puppy has diarrhea, won't eat or drink. What's wrong?

Hi. I have a 2 month old GSD puppy that has been having diarrhea and have not being eating for the last 5 days. He has only been vaccinated once for Parvo and has not taken the second parvo vaccine. He has been having diarrhea and has not been eating or drinking. I’ve been taking him to the vet who has been giving him IV everyday. The vet gives him metronidazole, electrolytes, and vitamine B. What could be his problem? Why is he not eating or drinking?

Poor Max! Without any information about diagnostics, it’s hard to say. Viral infections like Parvo can cause this. An intestinal blockage could also cause the same signs. If there’s any chance that Max got into any human medications that could cause organ damage, he could also present this way. I recommend to have a discussion with your veterinarian and ask what the doctor is suspecting is going on. If Max has not been tested for Parvo yet or had any radiographs, these may be beneficial diagnostics. I hope your boy gets better soon! Please feel free to post any additional questions.
