My cat hurt her nose. What should I do until her vet appointment?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Female | unspayed | 1 year and 1 month old

I'm taking my cat to the vet tomorrow. Is there anything I can or should be doing in the meantime? I don't know what's wrong oth my cat's nose. Left her alone for an hour or so and she came to me with her nose looking like this. I've included a picture of her from 2 days ago and 2 from today for comparison. I'm taking her to a vet tomorrow. In the meantime, what shall I do ?

Ouch! You definitely want to keep Baby from injuring her nose any further. Make her wear an elizabethan collar at all times and try to prevent her from rubbing her nose against furniture or carpets. Don’t apply anything as you may accidentally block her nostrils and cause her to have a hard time breathing. Definitely take her into the veterinarian. I hope this is helpful and please feel free to post any additional questions.
