My dog has red eyes with discharge particularly from her right eye which is the most red.

Thank you for submitting your question regarding Poppy. I recommend that she sees her veterinarian. A red eye can indicate several things. An eye infection is most common in a young dog. This is especially likely if she has also been coughing or sneezing. She could also be experiencing a corneal ulcer which is a scratch across the surface of her eye. More serious conditions include inadequate tear production or a change in pressure in her eyes. Her veterinarian will perform an eye exam and then some tests to differentiate between these conditions. From there, appropriate treatment can be prescribed. In the meantime, do not allow her to paw at her eyes. I hope this information helps!

That is likely to be due conjunctivitis, probably secondary to a trauma or infection. A check up would be essential as appropriate treatment would include antibiotics and anti-inflammatory eye drops. Corneal injuries must be ruled out as well as a physical examination is needed to determine the nature of the ''red spot on the corneal surface''.
