My dogs are potty trained but still pee inside at night. Help!

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Medium (23 - 60lb) | Female | unspayed | 1 year and 7 months old | 50 lbs

I can’t get both of my dogs to stop having accidents during the night. They are both potty trained other than that. We take them out right before bed and as soon as we wake up. What can we do?

I recommend to kennel train the dogs and kennel them at night or have them shut in your room if they will not potty in your room. If they will potty in your room then kenneling them is the best thing to do as well. After about a month you can try to let them out again and see if they have stopped the behavior. I hope this is helpful and please feel free to post any additional questions.
