My dog has a deep bump. Vet suspects lipoma, should I get a second opinion?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Goldendoodle | Male | neutered | 85 lbs

Took my dog to the vet for small Bump under skin, you cannot see it only feel it . after the biopsy he said it was hard to biopsy because it’s deep and small and that he is fairly confident that it is a lipoma because he got back fatty cells but could not tell me with certainty. Should I get a second opinion? Should I try and get somebody else to biopsy it?

Thank you for contacting Pet Coach with your question about Bubba. Fatty cells are typically indicators of a lipoma, but based on the fact you posted here asking if you should get a second opinion, I have the feeling you'd feel better if you did get one. There's no harm in getting a second opinion, especially if it will give you more certainty. I hope this helps!
