Pet's info: Cat | Maine Coon | Male | unneutered | 3 months and 23 days old | 3 lbs
My maine coon (it definitely is a maine coon with a 7 generation WCF certificate) kitten is significantly below the expected weight. I got him when he was 11 weeks old and he weighed 500 g. Now he is 16 weeks old and I just realized the problem. He is now 1300 g. He grew a lot, but he is still far below what it should be. He has been dewormed and vaccinated, and was the biggest kitten in his litter. He's not neutered yet. What could be the problem? Will he grow up to a regular maine coon size?

Since Maine Coon cats can have a genetic disposition for a heart condition called HCM, I would take Count to a veterinarian for an exam and possible referral to a cardiologist. HCM or another heritable disease can inhibit growth.

I wanted to add that HCM usually shows up in middle aged cats, however you never know, exceptions state the rule. There are other congenital problems possible regardless of breed, such as a hepatic shunt or blood vessel abnormalities that can stunt growth. Again I recommend a thorough examby your veterinarian.
