My heartworm positive dog is coughing blood. Should I go to the vet?

Hello, i adopted a heartworm positive dog about 3 weeks ago and she wont be treated for about another month. She's had this cough for awhile and only sometimes will spit up flem or clear fluid. Just today she spit up alittle bit of blood and flem twice. I was wondering if i should take her to the vet or if this is another sign of the heart worms. Thank you. Pet's info: Dog | American Staffordshire Terrier | Female | unspayed | 35 lbs
